Earl gets a HOP ROD!

So as im sure most of you know, I have a very large collection of pogo sticks. Maybe even the biggest in existence (definitely so in regards to pogo sticks with significance in the sport of extreme pogo), but the Hop Rod has always been at the top of my list of pogo sticks that I wanted for my collection.

I have been pogo sticking since 2002 (23 years now… wow) and I have a very vivid memory of first discovering the Hop Rod on the internet in probably 2004 or so. I remember downloading videos of people using them and of course the original ads, and if you were surfing the web on dial-up internet back then, you’d know it would take hours to download a 2 minute video. I have been searching regularly on ebay, from back them up until today, to either find them in horrible shape or mint condition with the original box for thousands of dollars (there is one on ebay right now and they are asking $4,250, and that one doesn’t even have the box!) -> (Read More) ->

20 Years of Pogopalooza – A Documentary

Our friends at Xpogo have just released a full length documentary on the history of Pogopalooza! Give it a watch when you get some time, it’s a load of fun!

From Xpogo:

On August 13th 2004, the first ever Pogopalooza was hosted by Dan Brown, in a parking lot in Lincoln Nebraska with a handful of attendees. Since then the event has taken off and blossomed into the World Championships of pogo, which we’ve held across the world and has undergone many evolutions alongside the sport of Extreme Pogo. In honor of the 20th Anniversary of Pogopalooza we put together this documentary to take a deep dive into the history of the event weaving together interviews with the people who made Pogopalooza what it was and highlights of the greatest stunts, high jumps, records and runs. This film is a detailed look at this event which serves as the beating heart of the sport of Extreme Pogo, and all the blood, sweat, tears, and bails that have made it happen over the years.
